The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.

Psalm 138:8 (CSB)

Noah had never built an ark. Moses had never led a nation through a desert. Peter had never healed a man crippled since birth. And of course, Mary had never been pregnant and given birth. Yet in spite of their immense inexperience, God used each of them in mighty ways and they not only changed history—they changed eternity! But each one of them had two choices: they could accept the assignment God had given them, no matter how difficult and regardless of the opinions of other people, or they could have said no and walked away in fear.

The heroes of the Bible are not the only heroes in God’s story. He uses everyday, ordinary people who are afraid, who have no experience, and who seriously question His judgment in choosing them to do big things for His Kingdom. He uses people just like us! He asks us to give Him whatever we have, wherever we are, so that He can do His work through us. When God gives us opportunities to step out in obedience, He is very much aware of our fear, but He doesn’t want our fear to control us. He just wants us to pack up our courage and push through that fear, because there is freedom just on the other side.

What will you do with what God has given you? Do you trust Him to do His part when you courageously do yours? Jesus will gladly give you opportunities to bless others and do mighty things in His name. He is not limited by your circumstances, your weaknesses, or your fears. When you surrender your agenda and your perceived limitations, He will meet you right where you are, use what He has given you, and fulfill your purposes as He fulfills His! Perhaps the of faith you’ve always wanted is just on the other side of your fear—a life that will not only change history; it will change ETERNITY! You are dearly loved!
