Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Most of us have a love-hate relationship with time. We either see it as our friend, or we consider it an enemy. Sometimes we view time as a greedy miser who chooses to give us as little as possible, then laughs because we can’t get everything done. But although we don’t want to admit it, our relationship with time isn’t time’s fault…it’s our own! On any given day, we manage to fit eating, sleeping, connecting, working, and playing into our schedules. But when it comes to giving Jesus our time, we claim we can’t find the time to fit His purposes into our routines.
Rather than seeing time as the enemy, think of each minute as opportunities. You know the 5-minutes you wait for that caramel macchiato at Starbucks? That’s enough time to have a conversation with someone you’ve never met. It’s enough time to text someone and invite them to church. It’s enough time to open your Bible app and read a chapter. It’s enough time to text an encouraging note to someone who is struggling. It’s enough time to text someone you love and just remind them that you do. Those are Kingdom moments.
How about today, between now and bedtime, you see each minute as individual opportunities to share the very heart of Jesus with those who need hope? You don’t even have to tell them about Jesus to show them who He is. The moments of your life that you will remember are not the eating and sleeping and working ones; they will be the sharing Jesus ones. You will remember the moments that count, the ones that not only influence hearts today, but they also influence eternity. Show the world Jesus’ love, and they will know there’s something different about you. They will want what you have, so make every minute count! You are loved!
"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little."
—Edmund Burke
