For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10
Masterpiece (noun) - a person's greatest piece of work, as in art, anything done with masterly skill, a consummate example of skill or excellence of any kind.
Yeah...that’s YOU!!
A masterpiece isn’t something that is thrown together. It is well-thought out. It is planned, often extensively. It is then meticulously created with great attention to detail. A masterpiece requires the full attention of the Artist, and to be called a masterpiece by the Artist means that His creation is one of His all-time favorites. So when God, your Artist, looks at you, that is exactly what He sees!
Most days, you may feel more mess than masterpiece, but how you see yourself isn’t what makes you a masterpiece. It is how the Artist sees you that matters. When He looks at you, which He does all the time, He sees His beautiful creation. You may feel abhorred, but He says, ”My child, you are adored!” If you think you’re a loser, He’s pulling you close and whispering, “You are so very loved!” Even if you feel forgotten, He’s speaking to your heart, “You are forever favored!”
If you are hearing and believing anything but the truth of who you are from the Creator of who you are, you are listening to the the world’s most horrible, most dishonest art critic. He is not only just plain wrong, he is the father of lies and hates all truth (John 8:44). You always have a choice of who to believe, so don’t believe that liar…he’s a jerk.
Believe your Father, your Creator, the very Master Artist who dreamed you up. He designed you, He meticulously planned you, and when He knit you together, He gave you His full attention to detail. You are definitely one of His all-time favorites, and when He gazes at you, at His beautiful masterpiece, He beams! You are loved!
