“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.
Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.”
Luke 6:27-28
People will be mean. Some will judge you, they might laugh at you, and they may even mock you. Love them anyway!
People will hurt your feelings and offend you over and over again. They will probably make you cry more than once. Love them anyway!
People will cut you off in traffic and take the parking spot you were clearly waiting for. They may even wave inappropriate hand gestures in your direction. Love them anyway!
People will win, and sometimes you will lose. They will succeed, and at times, you will fail. Love them anyway!
People will walk away from you for no apparent reason. They will leave you confused and even break your heart. Love them anyway!
People may not like you. They will criticize you, ridicule you, and stab you in the back. Love them anyway!
People will reject you, your beliefs, your political party, and pretty much everything you stand for. They will be very hard to love. Love them anyway!
Jesus doesn’t say to only love “nice” people. He doesn’t put people into categories and tell us we should love some more than others. He just says to love them…to love all of them! Remember those nails Jesus took for you? He took them for your enemies, too. You know all those sins of yours that Jesus died for? He loves you anyway…so love them anyway! You are loved!
