Being a Christian doesn’t mean you have all the answers. There is much beyond your understanding, and that’s why we call it “faith”.
(For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9
Being a Christian doesn’t mean you should think you’re better than anyone else. It means you know you aren’t perfect, but you worship a God who is. (Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Romans 12:3)
Being a Christian doesn’t mean your life is all up to you. It means you are surrendering who you were for who God IS! (“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23)
Being a Christian doesn’t mean your life will be easy and comfortable. But Jesus promises it will be fulfilling, and He will be with you through it all. (“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20)
Being a Christian means that Jesus is always with you. (Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9) Being a Christian means that God is working in you. (And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6) And being a Christian means He loves you, from before the beginning of time until forever. (How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! Psalm 139:17-18) You are so very loved!
