When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the Lord.
Exodus 34:29
When Moses came down from the mountain, he looked different. Carrying the tablets that defined God’s nature and revealed His heart, Moses’ face glowed with God’s radiance. The presence of God changed Moses on the inside and the outside, even though Moses didn’t know he looked any different. The Israelites all witnessed his glow and knew it was evidence of God’s pure and holy light.
Your face may not glow like Moses’, but the way you live should reveal to everyone who knows you that you have been in close contact with God. The more time you spend with Him in prayer, in His Word, and worshipping at His feet, the more you will reflect His love and His heart to others. Your heart will be different, your character will be different, and your words and actions will be different. Your transformation may not be immediate, but your transformed character and the fruit in your life (Galatians 5:22-23) will be evidence of His work in you. People will know that you, too, have been with God.
Like the moon reflects the light of the sun, your life should reflect the glory of Jesus, the perfect light of Christ. How well does your life, your heart, and your face glow with God’s glory? Do others see His goodness and His character when they look at you? God is working to transform you into the person He created you to be for His purposes. Give Him the reigns, and get ready to glow big from the inside out! You are loved!
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
