He did not spare his own Son but gave him for us all. So with Jesus, God will surely give us all things.

Romans 8:32 (NCV)

There are times in life when God seems like a withholder. When we pray and seek and plead with Him for specific things, we get the impression that He is tight-fisted. But when we get fixated on the wrong things, when we are asking for things He knows are not right for us, He says, “No” or “not yet”. Sometimes we ask Him for things He knows will distract us from Him. We beg Him for what will surely lead to sin and run us right off the path He has planned for us.

God is never a withholder; He is a GIVER! He gives us just the right gifts at the just right times. He is the Giver of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), of life (John 6:33), breath (Isaiah 42:5), love (Deuteronomy 33:3), light (John 1:4), truth (John 14:6), wisdom (Proverbs 2:6), freedom (Romans 6:14), strength (Psalm 46:1), rest (Matthew 11:28-30), peace (John 14:27), victory (1 Corinthians 15:57), grace and glory (Psalm 84:11), mercy (Ephesians 2:4-5), hope (Jeremiah 29:11), protection (Psalm 18:30), shelter (Psalm 91:4), hearts to know Him (Jeremiah 24:7), crowns of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8), the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4), and His very own SON (John 3:16)!! That certainly doesn’t sound like our God withholds anything, does it?

Sometimes when you think God isn’t answering your prayers, it could be that what He is offering, you are not accepting. Some of God’s biggest blessings are only half of the equation, because some of what God gives, must also be received. He offers salvation, but you must accept His invitation. He offers forgiveness, but first you need to confess and turn your heart back to Him. When you accepted Jesus’ invitation to follow Him, you also accepted His generous gifts. Your Giver is so so GOOD! Perhaps you just need to open your hands and be a receiver! You are loved!
