For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

Some people believe that life is like a puzzle. All the pieces represent different things in their life: their career, experiences, accomplishments, family, friends, hobbies, etc. When all the pieces are put together, they create a beautiful picture. Many people see Jesus as a piece of their puzzle. They do life mostly without Him, but they may fit Him in on Sundays, or more likely just on Christmas and Easter. A true follower of Christ, however, doesn’t make Jesus a piece of their puzzle; they understand that the entire puzzle belongs to Him! 

When you try to live your life your own way, it’s like putting the puzzle together all wrong. You will end up with an awkward, messy collage of sorts, and there will be no order and not much beauty. But when you walk closely with Jesus every day and allow Him to arrange the puzzle pieces, He will create the stunning masterpiece He planned long ago. Your life of love and service will be a priceless work of art that inspires, encourages, and blesses this world. 

Sometimes your life may feel more like a pile of puzzle pieces than a beautiful piece of art. Things may feel chaotic or uncertain. You may be looking for order but finding only confusion. That’s when you need to invite Jesus in. Only He sees the big picture, like a puzzle box cover depicting your beautiful life. Only He sees how all the pieces fit together according to His purpose. Peace and contentment come when you stop fighting Him for control, when you surrender your way for His way. Give Him all the pieces, even the ones you would rather keep hidden. He will use every one of them to create the masterpiece that is you. And it will be magnificent! You are loved!
