Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives.

Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Colossians 3:16-17

What fills your life? Insecurity, fear, perfectionism, anger, jealousy, bad relationships, addiction? When negative things fill your life and overwhelm your heart, it's hard to catch all the blessings God pours down.

If we want to be truly blessed, we must fill our lives with gratitude! Gratitude makes us happier, attracts positive people to our lives, and shows Jesus’ heart to those around us. Studies have shown that grateful people are physically and emotionally healthier, more successful, less materialistic, have healthier relationships, are more productive, have more positive self-images, and live longer! Talk about motivation for choosing a lifestyle of gratitude!!

God wants your life to be full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control—every fruit of His Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23) Gratitude opens your heart to these good things the Spirit gives. Gratitude is obedience! (Psalm 50:14) It opens your eyes to what you have and diminishes what you don’t. It draws you closer to God, and it leads to peace! Philippians 4:6-7 explains it beautifully: prayer plus thankfulness equals PEACE! Spend time with Jesus and thank Him for every blessing. Fill your life with His Word, “the message about Christ”, so there’s no room for negative, “worthless things”. Choose gratitude and let thankfulness lead your heart. It will leave it wide open to catch every blessing! You are loved!

Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word. Psalm 119:37
